What makes Transcendance worth our investment?
Our company exceeds your expectations by attending to every small detail, so that you don't have to. Our superior sound quality and selection of music ensures that your event will be classy and successful.

Is setup time included in Transcendance's price?
Yes. We arrive at your event two hours prior to the commencement of your event. There is no extra charge for this set up or break down time. The client is also not responsible for any travel time or expenses incurred within the Chicagoland and Central Illinois region. You are only charged for the amount of time we are playing continuous, uninterrupted music.

Do transcendance DJs take breaks?
No. You are guaranteed uninterrupted music during your event. With two DJs at every wedding event, there is always someone attending to the needs of the music while the other may have to take a break.

Can we choose the music to be played at our event?
Yes. We strongly recommend that you prepare a song list prior to your event. This is especially important for weddings to ensure the playing of special songs that you and your loved ones desire and expect to hear. We give you plenty of time to discuss these things with family and friends, and we include an easy to use wedding planning packet that will facilitate the process for both you and us. The level of control over the music is entirely up to you. We both welcome and value your involvement in the pre-event planning process.

Can we have a "do not play" list?
Yes. As previously stated, the level of control over music selection is entirely up to you. You will have an opportunity to list what songs and what genres you do not want played. Depending on your event, you will not only want to tailor your event to your specific likes and dislikes, but also consider the mind set of those in attendance. We are a professional disc jockey company and therefore have hundreds of tracks from a variety of musical genres in our catalogue, which we realize may or may not be suitable for your event. We love all types of music, but at the same time,we respect your wishes and those of your guests. Ultimately, it is not about playing what we like or mimicking what is on the radio today, but catering our performance to your individual needs.

What if we want a song that Transcendance doesn't have?
Our level of preparation before your event ensures that this never happens. Our large database of songs from every era and genre guarantees that we will have the song for which you are looking. In the event that you have a request for a rare or "independent" song, bring it on CD and we'll play it.

How loud does Transcendance play the music?
We are very aware of the sound level of our music at all times. We choose the appropriate level of music for cocktail, dinner, and dancing hours. The music will never be too loud during dinner, nor too soft during the dancing portion of your event.

Does Transcendance carry backup equipment?
Yes. We always have backup equipment on site. We are always prepared for any event, given that we are a multi-unit company. We guarantee that you will not be left without music.

Do you hang any banners or other advertisements?
No. Your wedding is not the venue for our self-promotion. We may display a 8 x 10" framed piece of signage on our table next to our equipment. If anyone is interested in our services, we always carry extra business cards, and are willing to talk after the event.

How interactive are Transcendance DJs?
Our level of interaction is determined entirely by you. We understand that every wedding is different. We fulfill the desires of our clients by providing them with the opportunity to decide how much interaction is appropriate for your audience. We want to Do you want us to simply play music and take requests? Do you want us to get out on the floor and lead dance routines? We do it all.

Can we meet the actual DJ before booking?
Yes, our size ensures that you will have personal contact with the DJ prior to signing a contract. We understand the importance of feeling comfortable with your DJ. Most likely, you will be dealing with your DJ as soon as you call or email us.

How far will you travel?
Transcendance Djs will travel within a one hundred mile radius of the Chicagoland area. Any events requiring further travel will be subject to an extra travel fee.

Do you offer a contract or written agreement?
Yes, all events are contracted to protect both parties interests.

Is tipping/gratuity expected from the DJ?
No. Tipping is entirely at the discretion of the client. Typically, satisfied clients tip our DJ's 10% of the final cost of the event.

Should we feed the DJ?
It is up to you to decide whether or not to offer food to the DJ. You will have an opportunity prior to the event to inform us if you will serve the DJ or not, our dj's will be prepared in either event. Many times, our DJs are busy during the meal gathering music requests from your guests, and are unable to sit down and eat.

What is the deposit and when is the final payment due?
For wedding events we ask that a $250 deposit be paid at the time of signing the contract in order to reserve your date. The remaining balance will be paid at the last consultation meeting.

How early should we book?
To make sure we are available, we suggest that you book as soon as possible. Typically, May thru September are our busiest months and we suggest that you book at least a year in advance.

How is Transcendance DJ Services better than a band?
Simply put, we can do it all. We do not take breaks, there is no limit to the style of music we can play, we take up less room, and we can appeal to everyone's tastes.

Do Transcendance DJs take requests?
Yes, we take requests from you and your guests before and during the event. Transcendance DJs will provide each table with a request sheet for your guests to list the songs they would like to hear. Allowing you and your guests to request music ensures that everyone hears their favorite song and gets up and dance.


How will Transcendance DJs dress for my event?
We always dress appropriately for the event. This means tuxedos or suits for Weddings, and business casual for our other events.

How many times will you announce the name of your company during our event?
Typically we will introduce ourselves at the beginning of the event, this informs your guests of our DJ's names and that we are approachable. At the end of the night we will say good bye and announce our company's name one last time.

Do you have any references?
Yes, references are available upon request.
